Lighthouse

It is a necessity for Alcatraz island to have a lighthouse due to the location in the bay. The lighthouse is still functioning. If the island didn’t have a lighthouse then any of the large cargo vessels or cruise ships which navigate the bay might veer straight into the island. The lighthouse is also an important part of the skyline of the island. The tshirts all feature the lighthouse in some way.

Gale Force Wind

The wind on Alcatraz was very strong. We were standing directly next to the main prison building and the wind felt like it was gale force. I was having problems standing up straight and thought I was going to fly away. If I had a kite then I would have flown away and would have next been seen in the east bay.

Star

Teresa’s dog is named Star. We had to leave Star in America whilst we got the garden fences repaired and waited for her paperwork to come through for the PETS programme, so that we may bring her home. There was a time where you could only bring a pet into the country if they stayed in quarantine for six months, now there are a number of countries who are allowed to run tests for rabies, if the results are negative after six months then the pet can travel immediately under the PETS programme. It won’t be too much longer until Star can travel. We’re not too sure how she will cope with the journey, but she will be welcomed on her arrival.

Three Days of Rain

I put on my tuxedo today and went to see the wonderful Three Days of Rain off Broadway in New York. I could not resist seeing the play as it stars the magnificent Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper (from TV’s Alias and the movie Wedding Crashers) and Paul Rudd. I bought along some flowers for Julia, but was not able to give them to Julia. πŸ™

The play tells the tale of a brother (Paul Rudd), sister (Julia Roberts) and a childhood friend (Bradley Cooper) who are reunited over three days of rain to settle their parents’ estate only to find out there are larger issues than determining what to do with the house.

I really enjoyed the play.

Caution! Large update coming soon

I promise that I am going update my blog soon. My apologies for not updating my blog, but I have been traveling around Europe and Africa for the last month and will be traveling around the rest of the world for the next month. I have lots of pictures from the places I have been. We have over six thousand photos to go through. The countries include Italy, Cyprus, Greece, Malta, Holland, France, Austria, Libya, and Egypt. I also have lots of stories from my travels.

Premiere

The premiere of my movie, “Return of the Teddy” was last week at the Grand Lake Theatre. The critics gave it good reviews and I am already in negotiations for the sequel. I have been overwhelmed by its success.

Harry Air Bear

When searching the net, we found stories about a bear who was owned by the RAF and who travelled the world. His name is Harry Air. He is the most travelled member of the Royal Air Force with hundreds of miles clocked up in his log book. He has been to all the RAF bases around the world and flown in all their aircraft. I think that is pretty amazing.

At the end of 2004 he was put up for auction to raise money for Children in Need and raised Β£750. I thought that was amazing. You can read all about him and his adventures. I think the best thing is that he also loves donuts, which shows he must be related to me in some way.

My Donut Franchise

I have invested my hard earnt pennies in a chain of donut stores. You’ll find them throughout Califonria, so when you’re on the road look out for the big donut with “Cuddly’s Donuts” written on it. You’re always welcome. Go in and ask for me. πŸ™‚

Happy Birthday Harry

It was Harry’s birthday on the 5th March. He was 5 years old. We knew it was his birthday because Teresa found the original receipt from Harrods, so unlike some of the bears, we know his birthday. Teresa was pretty amazing and created a donut shaped birthday cake within minutes.

Untitled Cuddly Bear Project

This is my attempt at a scifi film “A naive computer programmer is working as a spy in a sun-baked spaceport. His computer is destroyed by a rogue parasite. With the help of a mute alien, he must cross into another galaxy in order to avert disaster and save his way of life.” and is known as the Untitled Cuddly Bear Project. It sadly doesn’t have any known names linked to the project yet or even a distributor, but I will persist with Julia Roberts agent until she signs onto the project.

If you don’t think much of my scifi film plot then try for yourself.

Donut

Teresa is really creative. She saw a donut cushion on the ‘ternet and acclaimed that she could make that, so she gave it a go and made me a donut pillow. It is utterly amazing. I have had to warn the other bears that is not real and the sprinkles are sewn on!

Conceptual Art

I came across an interesting site which produces conceptual art from images found using google images. This is the piece of conceptual art which I created and it will be going on auction at sotherbys very shortly. πŸ™‚

Lemony Snickets

I was fortunate to get the entire series of Lemony Snickets books for Christmas. I had problems reading before, but with my new glasses I was engrossed so much that I went and read all twelve books.

I can see

I got some perscription glasses today, so I can finally read without squinting. This means I can use the computer more often now because I can see the screen clearly. I will post a picture when I get the chance.

Sulley

My favourite character that I met at Disney was Sulley from Monsters Inc. When he saw me in Teresa’s coat he pushed past all the people wanting to take photos and headed straight towards me. Teresa took me out of her coat and he grabbed me between his paws. He then started to walk away. He then realised that all we wanted was a photo with him, so he posed for the picture and then gave me back to Teresa. I was really scared for one moment as I thought he was kidnapping me.

Doormouse

I don’t think many people know about the door mouse coming out of the kettle, but Teresa noticed that the door mouse would come out of the kettle each time it boiled. We waited by the kettle and took his picture as it boiled.

Carrousel

I got to ride the Carrousel which was really nice. I like gentle rides, but I also like really fast ones too. I don’t much like simulator rides as they make me sick.

Chicken Little

I was surprised to meet Chicken Little at the studio. He was signing autographs and was giving everyone big hugs. I really like him and can’t wait to see the film.

Armageddon

There are some great rides in the Disney Studios at Disneyland Paris. My favourites were Moteurs in Action, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Armageddon. They are building Terror Tower there too, you can see part of it in the background of the picture.

Baloo

I think my favourite character that I met at the character breakfast was Baloo from the Jungle Book. He gave me a hug and after the photo he danced with Teresa.

Chip

Whilst at Disneyland Paris we decided to go to the Disney Movie Studio. It was a very wet day, but whilst we were entering the studio we got to meet Chip from Chip and Dale. Although in France they call Chip and Dale, Tic and Tac.

Flying on Dumbo

We all got to ride the Dumbo ride. Wendy, Teresa and I all shared one elephant and flew really high. Craig, Simon, Rebecca and Joshua all flew in other elephants.

Pinocchio

There is one Disney character who I really don’t like and that is Pinocchio. Whenever anyone went up to him in the park to take a photo or get his autograph, he would run away. The same happened last time we visited the park.

Only one more day

I’m really excited. Tomorrow morning we set off for Disneyland Paris. Were going to be there for 4 days and tomorrow evening we go to Buffalo Bill. It is going to be great fun, although the weather might be a bit wet. I am going to take my new raincoat so hopefully I can go on all the rides there.

How to find my site

We were wondering how everyone gets to my site. We have taken a look at the statistics and compiled the top 20.

1. alice in wonderland
2. christmas tree
3. snowman
4. star wars
5. pillsbury doughboy
6. finding nemo
7. space mountain
8. goofy
9. forrest gump
10. doughboy
11. james bond
12. nemo
13. pillsbury
14. birthday party
15. tower of terror
16. keanu reeves
17. alice and wonderland
18. teddy bear
19. pirates of the carribean
20. birthday

There were some odd search terms outside the top 20 such as “beyonce’s nipple slip”.

Wheel of Fortune

Teresa’s winning streak continued. Ronn was insistent on playing the $1 wheel of fortune slot machines. She put $20 into the machine and came away with $547.

Monster Crane

After seeing the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur we went around at played the carnival games. Teresa’s luck continued as she won 4 dogs on the Monster Crane.

PAAAARTY

Teresa, Craig and me flew out from the UK to Las Vegas with Virgin Atlantic to hold a big party at the MGM Grand. We had booked a Sky Lofts room at the MGM Grand and had arranged for friends to come from throughout the US to travel to Las Vegas and stay there for several nights. The idea was to have as much fun as possible.

1001 carpet cleaner

I have always thought I was a clean bear, but after having to endure another tumble in the washing machine I have come to the conclusion that I have to stop being a polychromatophile. I enjoy having a caesar salad, but the oiley dressing gets on my tshirt, and then for the life of me I cannot find anything to get the oil stain out. I tried 1001 carpet cleaner, oxi clean, vanish stain remover and all manner of suggested ideas from the internet, but none of them work. I only have so many tshirts, so something has to be done sooner and later.

Big Fish

Here I am with Sarah in front of one of the big tanks with the big fish. I prefer the small fish, so I stayed close to Sarah.

Shark Attack!

Yes, that is a shark. They are scary, even when they are behind a big sheet of glass. They seemed to like to terrorise the tourists by heading towards the glass and then turning away at the last minute.

Try this at home

The London Aquarium is worth going to see if you have a 2 for 1 voucher, otherwise the price seems very high. There were some cool exhibits in the aquarium such as this car which was filled with water and fish.

For all you kids out there, why not try this at home fill your parents car up and add some goldfish.

London Eye

We went on a day trip to London. Whilst there we went to see the London Eye. It didn’t appeal to Sarah who is afraid of heights. I thought that the London Eye would only be running until 2005, but it must be more popular then they had expected.

Halloween

We had a wonderful Halloween party. I avoided wearing an embarassing outfit as I persuaded Teresa to put the pumpkin outfit on Grumpy. As you can see he was not very happy.

Do you know the way to Treviso?

On the way home from Venice to Treviso airport Grandma started to panic. It got so bad that when they got to Preganzol station they got off the train and called Craig to find out if they had gone too far. It turned out that they were a short distance away from Treviso and that it would have been the next stop on the line. They had to wait for the next train.
